Katie is an international floral artist based in the heart of the Willamette Valley near Portland Oregon. Best known for her textural floral designs inspired by nature, Katie uses the most luxurious and beautiful flowers available while incorporating locally foraged, unique and sensory plants into each arrangement for a visually breathtaking experience.
Her design aesthetic could be best described as playful, romantic, herb-y and fragrant. Besides periodically creating florals for weddings, Katie and her team host incredible workshops worldwide for florists and other creatives to explore the art of floral design and creative process.

Creating Beauty in the Hard Places
Life is bittersweet, full of beautiful and difficult things. As a creative it’s helpful to know how to find the beauty in every season of life so that we can keep creating no matter what’s happening around us. Difficult seasons can be paralyzing, but with the right perspective they can become a catalyst and fuel for our creative process. In this session we are going to dig deep together and discover how to gain a new perspective about the hardest places in life so we can move out of a place of survival into using every circumstance to create beauty.
Objectives:
1. You can create beauty in the desert places of life.
2. Pain can be a catalyst for creativity.
3. Nothing is wasted.
Foraged and Found: A Lesson in Creative Floral Arranging
Nature is our best guide when creating floral arrangements and you can create something amazing wherever you are when you focus on using the shapes and texture nature provides for free! During this course we will go on a foraging expedition together, then we will learn how to create beautiful botanical table arrangements using foraged and easily accessible ingredients to make something spectacular.
Objectives:
1. Anyone can create beautiful floral arrangements when you've got the right ingredients. Take a walk and open your eyes to the possibilities!
2. Nature is our best teacher, listen to what she has to say about color/shape/texture, she's always right.
3. Listen to your instinct when working with flowers and you'll find your flow.
